THE CUBE: an 8 station, two level, industrial strength steel, pipe, grating, and plexiglas construct built to accommodate computers, 21" monitors, sub-woofer powered seating, DJ lighting, power supplies and an analogue 8x8 intercom system. The "cube" saved floor space, allowed most every player to make eye contact with one another, created a central area from which all stations could be accessed simultaneously, and created a high tech encompassing feel for people in the station.

A view from the second level to the first level of the "cube"

A ground level view
Me testing a seat on the second level while the cube was nearing completion
Me inside a bottom level station, probably wiring or soldering something

That's me and Bernie Worby, an ex-Navy ET (Electrical Technician). Bernie designed the intercom and showed me how to wire it. I learned some soldering techniques from him too.

That's my Father who helped me immensely throughout the project, Bernie to the right, and me behind left. On the low table you can see the guts of our intercom system. and on the "bartop" (which I designed and built) are the end console pieces that I am wiring up to the intercom and power supply

The location we moved into had water damage and the floors needed to be leveled and ceiling repaired. Eventually with help from my Dad and Jim Leonard (a conceptual artist from Chicago) I reconstructed the ceiling and floor and installed wood flooring.
